R-Z326 is an important subclade of R-Z9 and forms a significant paternal component of early Germanic populations. It expanded during the Bronze Age and became well established in regions later associated with Germanic tribal groups.
Most frequent in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and England. Also present in Sweden and Norway due to historical interaction between Germanic groups.
R-Z326 includes additional internal clusters such as R-Z381 sublineages that reflect localized expansions across the North Sea basin.
Z326 assists in resolving finer branches of Germanic paternal structure, particularly in early medieval contexts.
