Overview
J1-ZS804 is a downstream lineage of the Arabian-rooted J1-L147.1 complex, formed among pastoralists occupying the northern Arabian plateau, the Hejaz corridor and adjacent desert regions during the late Neolithic and early Bronze Age. These communities relied on mobile herding economies and water-source-based seasonal migration cycles that shaped the demographic foundations of early North Arabian populations. During the Bronze and Iron Ages, ZS804-bearing groups were active participants in the emergence of North Arabian tribal structures and the expansion of desert caravan networks. The downstream microbranches of the lineage reflect founder effects tied to clans occupying regions of the Hejaz, Najd, Wadi Sirhan and the southern Levant. Some downstream segments appear in early Islamic contexts, marking their participation in later demographic expansions.
